Sulin Tumi at Haukola
Tumi is another very spiritual being and I swear she knows every word you
say. She took a while to settle down when I first brought her home, 2 weeks
after bringing her daughter Layla home aged 13 weeks, and I was worried
she'd never settle. The day I said "I will persevere with her as I know she
loves us all and I love her and want her", her whole character changed. She
came over and put her head on my knee, looked at me with her big brown eyes,
and wagged her tail. From that moment on, I have had no doubt I made the
right choice as she suddenly settled immediately I had uttered those words,
almost as if she knew now that she was staying and was definitely wanted.
She became the most affectionate, loving and trusting girl ever imaginable,
and has come on in leaps and bounds ever since.
She also gave me Layla, pictured with her in the photo, and my beautiful
litter last year. She's a fantastic mum and has got so confident now, she
has more or less taken over from Kiwani as alpha of the pack. She's very
laid back and lets a lot go, but once she steps in to reprimand someone,
they know who's boss.
Again, I have to thank her breeder Lyn Barraclough, for allowing me to buy
her and trusting me to take good care of her treasured girl. I know Lyn
still has a special place in her heart for Tumi and I'm sure part of her
regrets letting her go. She's one of those dogs that gets under your skin,
so much so that she becomes a part of you and you develop a kind of
telepathy with her. She's a sheer delight to have around, beautiful, gentle,
ever watchful over everyone, and very protective of us all. For all her
protective instincts, she's a real lady and exceptionally sweet natured, a
real credit to the breed and such a friendly girl who I love dearly.
