I researched the breed in depth before I took him on when he was four
years old and I have been researching the breed and lines in depth ever
since. I have been looking specifically at the health issues, as a nurse
it was of great interest to me, and I aim to reduce as many health
problems as possible and hopefully help to eradicate some completely by
selective breeding. I have also been researching the area of genetics
within the breed and this is an on-going process. The health and well
being of all Utonagan is my main concern and as such, I also help out
with the running of the
Utonagan Rescue as set up originally by
Nadia
Carlyle, while she is currently working on other issues; I
have also been privileged to have been voted onto
The
Utonagan Club committee and enjoy getting involved with the
breed on all levels.. My aim in breeding is to enhance the breed,
producing good quality, healthy and happy dogs and find them permanent,
loving homes from the start. In the event that an owners circumstances
change and they can no longer keep the pup, I would always endeavour to
take it back and/or find a new home that I would have been happy to
place a pup with in the first place. My dogs are my life and my whole
world and they are first and foremost my pets, friends and companions.
I am interested in all things Native American, in particular the Lakota
Sioux, and I can actually speak Lakota to a fair degree. This is why all
my dogs have Lakota names, which seem to match well with their differing
personalities. I am a natural spiritual healer, have strong psychic and
mediumistic abilities and read Tarot cards with some amazing results. I
also do a small amount of crystal healing and have a wide and varied
collection of crystals. When not focusing on dogs or Lakota
spirituality, rock music is my passion, Guns'n'Roses and Whitesnake
being my favourites, oh and I mustn't forget Ozzy !!!! I'm also a huge
fan of Liverpool FC.
